Carole Yauk is a PhD graduate from the lab of Dr. Jim Quinn, where her doctoral work showed that elevated heritable mutations in herring gulls were associated with steel mills.
For her dissertation on this research Carole received the NSERC Silver Medal award.
Dr. Yauk now works at the Environmental Health Science and Research Bureau of Health Canada, where she works on toxigenomic analysis of environmental pollutants. Her seminar will explore her current research and the non-academic career path.
